Welcome to St. Mary of the Mills parish website.

Our parish was established in 1843 and the area was originally known as Laurel Factory.  Laurel was home to a gristmill, cotton mill, button factory and an iron works facility, hence the name St. Mary of the Mills.

Throughout the years, the dedication of many volunteers and faithful employees has contributed to building the largest Catholic community in Prince Georges County.  We invite you to come and join us as we discover Christ, follow Him, and joyfully share Christ with others. Please read more about our parish's mission, beliefs, and history on our Who We Are page or take a look at our current project, the Keesler Parish Center.

Let's get started

One thing that we strive to do here at St. Mary's is to meet you exactly where you are - and no matter where that is, we are here to walk with you. As we journey through different seasons of life, we find ourselves in different places on our walk with Christ. Here are 3 starting points to get you headed in the right direction

New to St. Mary's?

If you are simply wondering what all this 'Church' stuff is, are thinking about taking that next step, or are Catholic but looking for a new home . . . Let's go find out what we have for you.

Want to get more involved?

We understand that certain seasons in life are busier than others . . . If you have found a new passion and/or time to give to the ministries of St. Mary's, here is a good spot for you. We have some wonderful ministries in our Parish Life Section for you to look at.

Ready to give back?

One of the best things about God is that He is never outdone in generosity. When we bless others and lead them closer to Christ, we are blessed ten-fold in return. Find out ways that you can start giving back to the community!
